Intaaya is composed of 13 sustainable luxury Tent Suites, each designed with natural materials, refined interiors and wide ocean views.
Guests can choose between a more intimate Tent Suite with one king-size bed, a larger suite with two queen-size beds, or the spacious VIP Cliffside Tent Suite with two bedrooms, two bathrooms and a private lounge area. Some suites sit closer to the cliff and open directly towards the ocean, while others are set further back, offering greater privacy and a more secluded atmosphere.
Every Tent Suite includes a private bathroom, air conditioning, a fan and a generous ocean-view terrace.
The same layout also makes Intaaya an ideal setting for future private buyouts, weddings, retreats and other multi-day gatherings.

Each morning, seasonal produce is freshly harvested from our nearby permaculture farm, located just minutes from Intaaya, and brought directly to the kitchen. What you taste is what the land offered that very day.
Our culinary experience is thoughtfully guided by a highly regarded chef who blends refined technique with deep respect for nature.
The farm is lovingly cared for by local farmers, from seed to harvest, ensuring integrity in every ingredient.
Predominantly plant-based and seasonal, our cuisine nourishes with intention. Upon request, we thoughtfully address individual dietary adjustments, and responsibly sourced catch of the day from a local fisherman is available.

Intaaya is located in the southeast of Nusa Penida, Bali, near Diamond Beach. Chosen deliberately for privacy and tranquillity, the sanctuary remains intentionally low-profile.
Guests can reach Nusa Penida by public fast boat, with the recommended routes departing from Sanur or Kusamba. Upon arrival, our host and dedicated drivers will meet you at Sampalan Port and provide private transfers directly to Intaaya.
Return transportation from Intaaya to Sampalan Port is also included, ensuring a smooth journey on the island from arrival to departure.

At Intaaya, sustainability begins with relationship. The retreat was not imposed on the land, but shaped with the people who know it best. From the first sketch to the final stone, local builders, artisans, farmers, craftspeople, and team members helped create a sanctuary rooted in Balinese knowledge, local materials, and long-term community partnership.
This approach goes beyond employment. It is about reciprocity, shared learning, and building a model where the local community, land, and guest experience all support one another. Materials were sourced locally or reclaimed, waste was reduced throughout construction, and many of the people who built Intaaya continue to care for it today.
Sustainability here is not treated as a feature. It is a daily practice of stewardship, education, and responsibility, designed to give back more than it takes.
Architecture That Belongs to the Land
Intaaya’s architecture was designed to listen before it speaks. Every structure responds to the contours of the cliff, the movement of ocean winds, the path of sunlight, and the rhythm of rain. Rather than separating guests from nature, the retreat dissolves the boundary between indoor and outdoor living, creating spaces that breathe with the landscape.
The design combines ancient knowledge, modern engineering, and biomimicry. Bamboo roofs, rammed earth walls, limestone from the site, reclaimed teak, passive cooling, rainwater systems, and natural ventilation all work together to reduce impact while creating beauty, comfort, and longevity.
Nothing here is generic. The buildings belong to this exact place, shaped by Nusa Penida’s geology, climate, culture, and community. Architecture becomes not only shelter, but a teacher.
Circular Systems for Conscious Living
Intaaya operates as a living system, where energy, water, food, and waste are designed as part of one continuous cycle. The retreat is powered by off-grid solar energy, supported by battery storage, and uses electric vehicles charged by the sun. Water comes from a deep well, rainwater harvesting, traditional Balinese cubang, and an Atmospheric Water Generator that creates drinking water from air humidity.
Wastewater is purified through constructed wetland gardens, while organic waste returns to the farm as compost. The farm supplies fresh ingredients for plant-based meals, and guests are invited to see how food, water, energy, and care move through the land.
The result is a retreat that does not hide its systems, but reveals them. Circular living becomes part of the guest experience, showing that true luxury can be regenerative, accountable, and deeply connected to the Earth.
